Yamuna Sports Complex To Remain An India Archery Stadium Says Gautam Gambhir

Gautam Gambhir, the former Indian cricketer, confirmed on Thursday that the Indian Archery stadium of the Yamuna Sports Complex has only been renovated, and the news of it being used in cricket is not correct after players such as Deepika Kumari, had raised issues for the same.

The reason why Deepika raised this issue was because of a video which had shared online by the cricketer himself and both she and her husband stressed on the fact that the stadium should not be altered as it’s the best in Asia.

Reacting to the situation, she tweeted, “I became Deepika due to this ground in the 2010 Commonwealth Games. This is the best stadium in Asia.”

Yamuna Sports Complex

This sports complex is located in New Delhi and was established in 1999. The complex has wide varieties of sporting facilities. The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) owns this complex. The archery event for the 2010 Commonwealth games was also held here.

Delhi kids use 25% percent of the area for archery practice and the rest of the ground is used for archery competition. During the pre-COVID days, a total of 100 archers used to practice. And now, just few of the archers come up.
