The partition set romantic love story Gadar: Ek Prem Katha which had created a rampage at the box office at the time of its release is now going to make a comeback with its sequel Gadar 2, know the 2022 release date and cast
The movie was released back in June 2001 and had gained around Rs.133 crore which is equivalent to approximately Rs. 500 crore of the current time ticket price.

Now as the film has successfully completed its 20 years the makers have announced the sequel of the film. As per the makers, the shooting of the film’s first schedule was on Dec 1 at Palampur, Himachal Pradesh.
According to the main lead of the film, Sunny Deol, the shooting at Palampur was wrapped up in the last week of Dec month.
Recently the main lead actress Ameesha Patel took to her social media platform Instagram and showed the iconic hand-pump scene location.
Gadar 2 Controversy
The movie has recently caught up in a controversy when the team was shooting for the climax scenes in Lucknow, as at around 150 junior artists made a ruckus over non-payment statements by the production house.
Moreover, the production house called the police to disperse them, although, later the director of the film, Anil Sharma said that they only needed 10-15 people which they had called but they don’t have any idea about how many people came over.
Though the makers have later said that everything was sorted out within minutes, the climax of the film which was shot at La Martiniere College Lucknow and the iconic hand-pump scene is reportedly being recreated.
Release Date of Gadar 2
According to various reports, 80% of the shooting has already been completed following the Lucknow schedule. As per a tweet by film critic Taran Adarsh, the film is expected to hit theatres later this year with a date set for November 2022.
Cast of Gadar 2
As the movie serve as a sequel of 2001 blockbuster, the actors who will be reprising their roles in the film are:
Sunny Deol as Tara Singh,
Ameesha Patel as Sakeena aka Sakku, Utkarsh Sharma as Charanjeet Singh aka Jeete.
However, reportedly there are a few more actors who will also be seen playing pivotal roles, these are as:
Manish Wadhwa (Pak Army General),
Sajjad Delafrooz (Pak Army),
Gaurav Chopra, Dolly Bindra (Gul Khan’s wife).
Trailer of the film
The official trailer of the film will be unveiled soon after wrapping up the whole production, however, as of the there isn’t any confirmed date for the trailer of the Gadar 2. The budget of the movie stands at Rs.100 crore.
