Mass shootings and, particularly school shootings are far from rare which held in the US. But one thing stood out greatly in Monday’s killings at The Covenant School based in Nashville, Tennessee. The gunman was a gunwoman and she was just 28-year-old Audrey Hale who was an ex-student of Covenant School.

Audrey Hale was a former student of the same Christian elementary school, who took two assault rifles and handguns for committing a senseless act of terror and killings of innocent victims. Audrey Hale has murdered three 9-year-old children and, at least, three adults.

Audrey Hale cemented her position on the list of female mass shooters in the history of the US and she is at seventh number. Hale died in an encounter with police, while she was holed up on the second floor of the school.

The database of the Violence Project shows that women would make up only 2% of the mass shooters in the registered incidents in the United States. As per the data, currently, only seven of 192 mass shooters (it has been tracked since 1966) are females.

Audrey Hale was a native of Nashville who was a graphic designer and an illustrator. Audrey Hale also worked part-time for delivering groceries through mobile apps online. Audrey wanted to attack two buildings but she couldn’t attack the second one because of the high-security arrangements in the second building.

Hale was a trans woman and the attack’s motive is associated with her sexuality as per media reports.
