Meltwater Champions Chess Tour 2022 Leg 6 Format, Schedule, Date, Time
Some of the best chess players in the world will compete in the Champions Chess Tour 2022, also known as the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour, a nine-month run of nine online chess events with a US$1.6 million prize pool. The trip will go from February 19 until November 20, 2022. The second main event of the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour, the FTX Crypto Cup, will be the sixth leg of the $1.6 million tour. Eight top chess players from around the world will compete in the tournament, which will last from August 15 to August 21.
Round 3 of FTX Crypto Cup Chess will begin from 12:00 ET (18:00 CEST) on Wednesday as Indian prodigy Pragg will take on Hans Niemann while Alireza Firouzja will face Anish Giri.

FTX Crypto Cup Chess Day 2 Results, Winners, Latest Standings, And Round 3 Schedule
The only players to have earned three points in each of the first two rounds of the FTX Crypto Cup in Miami are Magnus Carlsen and Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu. In the second round on Tuesday, Carlsen lost the opening game to Hans Niemann but miraculously turned things around, winning three straight games to win the match.
Alireza Firouzja was disappointed to lose to Pragg in the first round in a very close match, but he responded superbly by defeating Le Quang Liem at the Eden Roc Miami Beach Hotel by a score of 2.5-1.5. Elsewhere, Levon Aronian prevailed over Jan-Krzysztof Duda by a score of 3.5-2.5 in a tie that required tiebreak match.
The highlight match of round three will pit the grandmaster of Armenia against Carlsen. Along with Giri vs. Firouzja, Niemann vs. Praggnanandhaa, and Le vs. Duda, this match will take place on Wednesday.

FTX Crypto Cup Chess Prize Money Pool Distribution
A player will win a total of $52,500 in prize money if they win all seven of their matches without needing a playoff round. Each match will feature a $7,500 prize pool. A playoff would award $5,000 to the victor and $2,500 to the loser. As with the top cryptocurrency exchange FTX in 2021, sponsorship rewards will also include a $100,000 bitcoin incentive.
