From June 9 to 19, 2022, Chartres will host the Top 16 chess players in its newly restored Town Hall, which will provide perfect playing conditions for the 16 teams contending for the title of French Team Champion. The defending champion, Bischwiller, will strive to keep their title.

French Team Championship Format, Teams, Match-ups and Schedule
During these eleven days, the sixteen top teams in France participate in eight-player teams. The chess clubs of C’Chartres Échecs, Villejuif, Bischwiller, Grasse Échecs, Chalons-en-Champagne, Club 608 – Paris, Tremblay-en-France, Metz Fischer, Vandoeuvre Échecs, Agen, THF de Saint-Quentin, Mulhouse Philidor, Lyon Olympique Chess, the Erdre Chessboard, Clichy Chess 92,
These teams are split into two pools and compete in a round robin format. The first four members of each group are placed in the upper pool, while the last four are placed in the lower pool, at the conclusion of this phase.
Teams are split into two pools, A and B, each with eight teams competing in a seven-round round-robin event. The first four members of each group are placed in the upper pool, while the last four are placed in the lower pool by the end of the pool phase.
Tournament Format, Rules, Latest Results, and Schedule
The format of French Team Championship is a team tournament with 16 teams of eight players competing over 11 rounds. The time limit is 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, then 30 minutes for the rest of the game, plus a 30-second increment from move one.

The games will be televised live on Vivapp.live with commentary from FIDE master Joachim Mouhamad. Except for the first round, which starts at 3:15 p.m. local time, they will take place every day at 2:15 p.m. local time.
