For 2022, the prize money pool was announced to be €43.6 million, an increase of 26.87% compared to 2021.

On the other hand, Iga Swiatek won her second career Grand Slam in Paris, France. First was also won at French Open in 2022. The Polish professional defeated Coco Gauff in straight sets to extend her winning streak to 35 matches, which is more than Serena Williams and equalled Venus Williams. The 21-year-old has won five WTA 1000 titles back to back this season making everyone her fan and she is the new favourite in the tennis world.

But the real question is, after winning the title, do the winners get to keep the trophies with them? Are Rafael Nadal and Iga Swiatek allowed to keep the French Open trophies with them? Or do they get the replica of the trophies?

The answer is no! The winners don’t get to keep the trophies with them. The originals, which are displayed on the court after the finals are always the property of Roland Garros. The originals are returned once all of the photographs have been completed. Many trophies are simply used for presentation before a smaller replica is presented to the winner, which is a regular occurrence in sports (s).

Both Swiatek and Nadal will receive copies of their French Open winner’s trophies, however, given Nadal’s monopoly on the trophy, it might be better to just give him the original.
