This season, the just-turned 21-year-old from Poland has outlasted several top players. She had previously won the Italian Open by defeating Ons Jabeur. At the Stuttgart Open, she beat top seed Aryna Sabalenka. Swiatek defeated four-time Grand Slam champion and former World No. 1 Naomi Osaka at the Miami Open. Swiatek began her unbeaten streak by defeating Maria Sakkari and Anett Kontaveit at the Indian Wells Masters and Qatar Open.

Swiatek with her victory over Gauff where she claimed her second career Grand Slam at the Roland Garros, extended her winning streak to 35 matches that equal to the streak of Venus Williams in 2000. She also broke the 34-game winning streak of Serena Williams with her final triumph today.
