Prediction

Gauff had previously reached one Grand Slam final when she and her partner Caty McNally finished second in the women’s doubles event at the 2021 US Open. She became the first woman to reach the final of the Roland Garros singles tournament since Maria Sharapova accomplished so at Wimbledon at the age of 17 in 2004.

Pegula, who is 28 years old, will be competing in her maiden Grand Slam final. In her career, the 2020 U.S. Olympian has reached the quarterfinals of three Grand Slams, including once in women’s doubles. Her finest performance to date was reaching the semifinals of the 2021 US Open in mixed doubles.

Gauff and Pegula are competing in their first tournament together. As the eighth seed, they have lost just one set among their five matches so far. Gauff has already ended runner up at the singles against Iga Swiatek so she is well motivated as she played very well against the World No. 1 . She with Pegula are expected to have their first WTA doubles title together.
