Maddy Maddy (@ilovebogmummies), a TikToker and YouTuber made the charges after releasing images from a group chat where Freckled Zelda was allegedly sending offensive remarks to a 15-year-old.

The debate first arose at the beginning of 2024. In due course, Freckled Zelda addressed the accusations and refuted them, claiming that Maddy had falsified their proof. For example, Freckled Zelda revealed that the two blurry images that were said to show Freckled Zelda in her pants were actually costume pictures that Maddy had mislabelled.

Freckled Zelda controversy began when YouTuber Maddy Maddy released a five-minute video titled “Why Freckled Zelda is a bad person” on March 5, 2024. The video featured many pictures accusing Freckled Zelda of stealing her ex’s artwork, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and grooming.

On her Instagram Reels, Freckled Zelda liked comments that appeared to be anti-LGBTQ+ and Islamophobic. Maddy claims that Freckled Zelda was anti-vax and placed Ami at danger of contracting COVID-19.

It’s said that Freckled Zelda misgender-identified them in order to steal artwork from their former partner.

It is said that Freckled Zelda developed an admiration for Kanye West concurrent with the onset of his  remarks. Freckled Zelda is accused of sending the aforementioned 15-year-old crude and improper messages.

Reactions from netizens

Following Maddy Maddy’s YouTube video, several responses to the accusations appeared on TikTok and other platforms. For example, TikToker @dorkofserotonin contributed to the rumours on March 21, 2024, when he shared a video in which he claimed to have felt “predatory” sensations from Freckled Zelda. The video received over 26,500 likes and 599,900 plays in just 11 days.

Sound, TikToker @habavamo made fun of the charges in a video that was released on March 24.

Freckled Zelda uploaded a video on TikTok on March 19, 2024, with the caption, “God is good cancel culture is not.”

Many others saw the video as a reaction to the accusations. On March 28, TikToker @unhingedlittledollie ridiculed Freckled Zelda and hilariously accused her of being a predator.

Freckled Zelda’s reaction

Freckled Zelda answered the accusations in a previous video that she uploaded on TikTok on March 31st, 2024, lasting around six minutes. The video got over 132,000 likes and 1.1 million plays in a single day.

In an attempt to refute Maddy Maddy’s claims, freckled Zelda uploaded a few of her own screenshots.
