As he has sustained a torn MCL and a damaged ACL during training, Ngannou was subjected to medical evaluation in Los Angeles on Monday. However, the surgery plans will not interfere with the fighter’s travel plans who is to return to Cameroon very soon. Ngannou and his team have ensured that his plans to go back home are not interrupted by his surgery at any cost.

What now unfolds for Ngannou on the health front is a procedure to repair the ACL upon his return to the US, with an evaluated recovery time period of nine months, as confirmed by Martin himself.

Here’s what he said about Ngannou, “I continue to be amazed by inspired by Francis’s heart and resilience. Fighting on one leg to overcome all odds, and remind the world that he is the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.”

Martin also went on to reveal Ngannou’s recovery plans which would include getting surgery done as soon as the Cameroonian returns to the US.

The fighter also has his 8-fight contract which he signed with UFC in 2017 coming to an end now. Even though he is still under exclusive contract with UFC at the moment as a result of a champion’s clause, Ngannou has went on to reveal to ESPN before UFC 270 that he has no plans to fight again under the terms that come along with his ongoing deal.

For now, “The Predator” will focus extensively on recovering and we will not see him in the ring for another 9 months.
