Know everything about the new 2022 F2 calendar which will be packed with 28 Grand Prix’s along with its schedule
FIA has released the new 2022 Formula 2 calendar which will comprise a total of 28 Grand Prix’s in 14 rounds. This is the first time that the Formula 2 Championship is witnessing a lengthy schedule which makes it more interesting.
Formula 2 CEO Bruno Michel said-
A lot of circuits have expressed their interest to have our championship added to their race weekend programme, but for costs reasons, we cannot increase the number of rounds more than we already have.”

Formula 2 Championship 2022 Calendar: F2 News, Dates And Schedule
Formula 2 Championship acts as a “training day” for the young aspiring athletes who want to race at the elite level of motorsport. Usually, a typical F2 season consists of 8-9 rounds which run parallelly with Formula 1. However, the new calendar is packed with 14 rounds of action and every round will hold 2 Grand Prix’s.
Schedule
The new Formula 2 season will start with a double-header at Bahrain and Jeddah just like F1 in the latter stages of March. Both the races will be in the span of a week which will make life difficult for the drivers. The following month, F2 will travel to Imola, Italy for the second round on April 24.

In the month of May, F2 will travel to Barcelona and Monaco for the European double-header which will intensify the Championship battle. Meanwhile, Baku will hold the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in the month of June before the triple-header in July which will cover Silverstone, Red Bull Ring, and Hungaroring.
After the summer break, Formula 2 will travel to Belgium, Netherlands, and Italy for the triple-header in the month of September. At this point, the season would be in a crucial phase where we might catch a glimpse of the Champion. Meanwhile, Russia will hold the last race of September before the 8-week break.
Following the 8-week break from racing, Formula 2 will travel to the United Arab Emirates for the final race of the season in the month of November.
