‘Floyd Wouldn’t Fight Unless I Left’

After the co-main event concluded Deji and Mayweather were scheduled to fight, but fans experienced a near two-hour delay. This was due to several arguments that popped up backstage.

One main reason was due to organizers deciding on how many minutes each round would last as the fight was initially advertised to consist of two-minute sessions. The second reason was an issue involving the size of the gloves.

Jake Paul further revealed on social media that he was also one of the main reasons for the delay. He stated:

Floyd wouldn’t fight unless I left, Shallow ego. And KSI refused to be seated near me Didn’t see him the whole event, Hide and go seek.

Paul And Mayweather’s History

Mayweather and Paul have a long history dating back from when the two clashed before Mayweather fought with Logan Paul. During that particular fight, Jake Paul snatched Mayweather’s cap, leading to an altercation, which left the 25-year-old YouTuber injured.

Paul has also called out the former five-weight world champion on several occasions but to no avail. Earlier this week, Mayweather told Jake Paul that he should focus on rescheduling his fight with Tommy Fury.

He stated:

Jake Paul got problems right here [points to Tommy Fury ], he talks a lot of things I’m not sure he means. He is doing good for what he is doing. It is what it is he is a lot of talk. It is different when you are at the highest level, once you get in there against a real fighter it will be over for him. Of course he wants to fight me I am 50-years-old [sic].

Mayweather Career

Floyd Mayweather currently only fights exhibition matches where bouts are not scored. The ‘Pretty Boy’ retired from professional boxing back in 2017 after his last win over Conor McGregor. He won an unforgettable stoppage victory over the former two-weight UFC champion and took his record to a perfect 50-0.
