On Sunday, Aman Saini & Pragati’s mixed compound archery duo bagged gold medal at the FISU World University Games 2023. Meanwhile, rifle shooter Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar also bagged one gold medal in Chengdu. Thanks to superb play from the representatives, India clinched seven medals on Sunday and increased their total to eleven medals, which include five gold, two silver, & four bronze medals. Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, an Olympian who was competing in the men’s 50-meter rifle 3P, finished first on the podium with a final score of 461.7.
Indian archers Aman Saini and Pragati won the gold medal in the compound mixed team event after edging Korea by one point in the championship round. India’s score of 157 out of 160 points equaled Korea’s previous meet record set in 2015. However, Chinese Taipei broke the record by scoring 158 points and defeating China by three points in the bronze-medal match.
