Fans of the series will be pleased to see a number of familiar faces from earlier games in the series make appearances alongside the newcomers.

These are the confirmed playable characters in Fire Emblem Engage. Tactical role-playing game in which the player must summon the Emblems in order to battle the Fell Dragon, which has awoken.

The upcoming Fire Emblem Engage is a tactical role-playing game developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. It’s going to be out on January 20, 2023, and it’s a new Fire Emblem game.

The gameplay will be similar to the previous games in the series, with the addition of Emblem Rings that let characters fight alongside lords from past Fire Emblem games, such Marth.

Playing field for Engage is the continent of Elyos, and it has summonable versions of the series’ past characters. It is the product of Mika Pikazo, who also designs the characters. A celestial dragon named Alear is roused from a thousand-year slumber to assist slay the Fell Dragon by collecting the Emblem Rings scattered around Elyos.

Fire Emblem Engage was revealed in two edition

The game was revealed in a Nintendo Direct on September 13, 2022. Marth from Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light and Celica from Fire Emblem Gaiden are just two of the previous protagonists who can be summoned with the Emblem Rings. And a “Divine Edition” of the game was also announced, complete with an artbook, poster, steelbook case, and art cards depicting them.

The story trailer was released on November 16 and it revealed certain plot points, such as Alear’s pledge to their late mother and a more sinister version of Marth. A gameplay trailer featuring new characters and other series regulars was released by Nintendo the following week.

Besides Marth and Celica, the following characters from previous games in the series are playable: Sigurd from Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War, Lyn from Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade, Corrin from Fire Emblem: Fates, and Byleth from Fire Emblem: Echoes. Moreover, the return of three of the original Houses was affirmed.

Who are the returning characters in Fire Emblem Engage

Rings of summons allow players to contact heroes from prior Fire Emblem games and have them join their cause. They’ll fight beside you and engage with you in the course of the game. So far, these are the only characters that have been confirmed to return.
