During their opening match, India performed offensively masterfully, applying a heavy press to their Chilean opponents for the entire 60 minutes to secure a resounding victory. Sangita scored India’s first goal in the third minute, and Sonika doubled the score in the eleventh. Navneet Kaur’s goal gave India a 3-0 lead later in the third quarter, however Chile scored a consolation goal and India won the game 3-1 to take joint lead of group ahead of their Monday clash against Japan.

2022 Women’s FIH Nations Cup Results Today, Day 2 Schedule, Date, Time, Venue, Format, & Semi-Finalists
Spain and India entered the FIH Hockey Women’s Nations Cup Spain 2022 as the two overwhelming favorites, and they supported that reputation by putting on overpowering performances in their matches against Ireland and Chile, respectively, to take all 3 points in their first matches. With less than five minutes remaining in their game against a young South African team, Japan joined Spain and India on three points after the game.
Prior to this, Korea and Italy were unable to be separated in the Nations Cup opener. Both teams earned one point from the draw, giving Spain a two point advantage at the top of Pool A. With three points each at the end of the first day in Pool B, India and Japan are tied for top place with Japan due to India’s superior goal differential. This competition will take place at the Estadio Betero in Valencia, Spain, from December 11 to December 17, 2022, and the winner will have the chance to qualify for the 2023–2024 FIH Pro League season.
