The competition will feature 16 teams, just like in 2018. Along with the five regional champions, the host nation, Spain, and the Netherlands will all be given automatic places. The number of slots made available through continental championships—including the World Cup hosts—was increased from six to sixteen when the 2020 Summer Olympics were postponed. 2022 Women’s FIH Hockey World Cup India vs China Results, Score, Latest Standings, Upcoming Schedule, Date, Time, And Venue
Each of the four pools contains four teams, and each team will play each other team in the pool once. The group’s top team advances directly to the quarterfinals after all games are completed. The second and third-place teams in each group, however, will advance to the round of 16.
China and India play to a 1-1 tie, with little separating the two teams. With only one goal from five opportunities, India would be frustrated with their penalty corner conversions. But it was a significant goal, as Vandana Katariya, the game’s most valuable player, tied the score in the third period to reverse Zheng Jiali’s goal in the 26th minute.
Tuesday’s second Pool B match featured a heist by New Zealand against England. Black Sticks came from behind to win with a score of 3-1, putting up a professional performance and ultimately adding a victory to their record in Pool B. India’s final game in this group stage is against New Zealand. India’s chances of progressing farther in this World Cup would be greatly improved by a victory there.
