2022 Women’s FIH Hockey World Cup India vs England Preview, Expected Indian Line-up, Upcoming Schedule, Date, Time, Venue, And Fixtures

Each of the four pools contains four teams, and each team will play each other team in the pool once. The group’s top team advances directly to the quarterfinals after all games are completed. The second and third-place teams in each group, however, will advance to the round of 16. The Indian women’s hockey team will play England on July 3 to open play in the FIH Women’s World Cup. On July 5, they will play China. On July 7, they will play New Zealand in their final pool-stage game.

When India and England begin their Pool B matches in the Women’s Hockey World Cup here on Sunday, no longer regarded as pushovers, they will look to get payback. The Indian women’s hockey team will be eager to make amends with a squad that dashed their bronze medal ambitions at the Olympics in Tokyo last year. India came agonizingly close to winning their first Olympic medal in Tokyo, but ultimately fell short against England 3-4. However, the Indians would be confident going into the competition, especially after placing a creditable third in their first game of the FIH Pro League.

Since taking over as captain from the legendary Rani Rampal, who has been absent since the Tokyo Games owing to a hamstring injury, seasoned goalie Savita Punia has done an excellent job. Vice-captain Deep Grace Ekka, Gurjit Kaur, Udita, and Nikki Pradhan will be responsible for keeping an eye on the backline, while Sushila Chanu, Neha Goyal, Navjot Kaur, Sonika, Jyoti, Nisha, and Monika will be in charge of developing the assaults.

The linking role will need to be filled by Salima Tete, who has been in excellent form and is renowned for his explosive runs down the flanks. Experienced players Vandana Katariya, Lalremsiami, Navneet Kaur, and Sharmila Devi will be in charge of scoring goals.

Few things set the two sides apart from one another. India is ranked sixth in the world, while England is ranked fourth. Following their encounter against England, India will play China on June 5, then New Zealand on July 7.
