Guided by Harmanpreet Singh’s brilliance, India managed a shootout win against Australia on Wednesday after sweeping aside the reigning world champions Germany 6-3 earlier on Monday. With this win, India finished the mini-event at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium by gathering 11/12 points and widened their lead at the top to two points.

India and Australia engaged in an intense match on the final day of the mini-event at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium, and the two sides ended up drawing 2-2 after the regular time to split the points. In the sudden death shootouts, India defeated Australia by a score of 4-3 to earn the bonus point. Following a string of superb plays against Australia and Germany, India have gathered 11 of the possible 12 points at home. By accruing 19 points after 8 games, India also widened their advantage at the top of the standings.
Currently, India are standing at the top of the 2022-23 FIH Pro League standings but, Spain are just two points behind with 17 points in eight matches. For their next mini-event in this competition, Indian team will fly to London, where they will face-off against Belgium an Great Britain twice. However, India’s next match is scheduled for 26th May and till then, they can enjoy their well-deserved dominance at the top.

The Star Sports Select 2 & Star Sports Select 2 HD TV stations will also live stream the FIH Pro League.
