The Hero FIH Hockey5s Lausanne 2022 event is the International Ice Hockey Federation’s first official senior World Hockey5s competition, and it builds on the success of previous Hockey5s events across the world, including the Youth Olympic Games events in Nanjing 2014 and Buenos Aires 2018.
The men’s teams from India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Poland, and Switzerland are competing in a round robin tournament, with the top two teams advancing to the final.

In their first two matches of the FIH Hockey 5s Lausanne 2022 here on Saturday, the Indian men’s hockey team won 4-3 against Switzerland and drew 2-2 with Pakistan.
In their first encounter at the FIH Hockey 5s Lausanne 2022, the Indian men’s hockey team, led by Gurinder Singh, defeated the hosts Switzerland 4-3. India’s goals came from Mohammed Raheel (2′, 10′), Rabichandra Moirangthem (5′), and Captain Gurinder Singh (19′), whereas Switzerland’s goals came from Jonas Winkler (6′), Fabio Reinhard (11′), and Patrick Kruesi (16′).
The Indian Men’s Hockey Team was held to a 2-2 draw against Pakistan in the second match. In a tense contest, Mohammed Raheel (1′) and Gursahibjit Singh (18′) scored for India, while Arshad (7′) and Abdul Rehman (20′) scored for Pakistan.

Following an early setback against Pakistan, Poland currently leads the points table in the Men’s category after two consecutive wins against Malaysia and Switzerland. Switzerland is in fourth place with one point from three games, one point ahead of Malaysia, which has one point from two games.
