2023 Men’s FIH Hockey World Cup Germany vs Englandsย result, score, semi-final schedule, date, time, venue, & other details
Although Germany began the match confidently, they conceded an early goal as England took the lead thanks to goal from Zach Wallace. England continued their attacking play and managed to double their lead with approximately twenty minutes left. However, Germany managed to reduce the deficit thanks to goal from Mats Grambusch and quickly tie the score after they received a penalty stroke to force shootout. Ultimately, Germany emerged victorious in the shootout by score of 4-3 and qualified for the semi-final, where they will clash against Australia.
In the other quarterfinal of Wednesday, Netherlands dominated South Korea throughout the match and emerged victorious by score of 5-1. Following their win, Netherlands have qualified for the semi-final of 2023 Men’s FIH Hockey World Cup and are scheduled to play the reigning world champion Belgium. Due to scoring the opening two goals for Netherlands, Koen Bijen bagged the MVP award and expressed his optimism for the semi-final clash during his post-match interview.
