Although Belgium raced to an early lead against Germany, they were unable to contain their lead as Germany snatched the momentum to secure 2-1 lead before settling for a 2-2 draw. With one match left to play, Belgium and Germany are both tied on four points but the reigning champions are at the top due to their better goal difference.

2023 Men’s FIH Hockey World Cup Germany vs Belgium results, score, day 6 schedule, date, time, venue, & other details

All teams from Pool-B played their second set of games on Day 5 of the FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup from Bhubaneswar. Within the first 70 seconds of Tuesday’s opening match, Japan managed to score, but Korea quickly got back into the game, scoring twice through Lee Jungjun to regain the lead inside the first half that they would maintain until the very end to win 2-1. Korea already has three points as a consequence, while Japan is still looking for their first.

In the final game of the day, Germany and Belgium locked horns with the objective of bagging second victory in as many games and qualifying directly for the quarterfinal. Although Belgium scored early to take 1-0 lead, the Germans continued their relentless attack before managing two goals to snatch the lead. However, Belgium dominated for the last few minutes and were able to tie the score thanks to a goal from Victor Wegnez after Thies Pirnz received an unnecessary yellow card.

Players will have a rest day following Tuesday’s games in the Men’s FIH Hockey World Cup before Thursday’s pivotal contests. India will play Wales when the Hockey World Cup resumes on Thursday in the hopes of a crushing victory that will allow him to finish first in Pool-D.
