The upcoming event will be the inaugural edition of the FIH Men’s Hockey5s World Cup. It will be a quadrennial world championship for both the men’s and women’s national hockey5s teams that the FIH organizes.

FIH announces competition details for Hockey 5s World Cup 2024
The FIH announced the competition details during an event on Sunday, September 3, in Salalah, Oman. During the announcement event, FIH President Tayyab Ikram gave a speech extending his congratulations to all the participating 32 teams.
He stated;
I am thrilled to extend congratulations to the 16 men’s and women’s teams preparing to partake in the inaugural FIH Hockey5s World Cup. As front-runners in this exhilarating new format of our cherished sport, you are setting a precedent for all aspiring players. Your performance will remain etched in the annals of Hockey 5s history.”
