Kamila Valeryevna Valieva who is more famous with her name Kamila Valieva is a Russian figure skater. She was born on 26 April 2006.

Kamila has a pet Pomeranian, who is named Lëva (Liova). The dog was gifted to her by her fans in 2019. While the identity of her parents is not known she often posts photos with her younger sister Alisa Pesbalova while her great-grandfather was Zinnatullin Nasretdin Zinnatullovich, a machine gunner at the infantry division of the 2nd Ukrainian Front.

Kamila has been named the 2022 European champion along with 2021 Rostelecom Cup champion, 2021 Skate Canada International champion, 2022 Russian national champion, and also, she has been named as the 2021 Russian National silver medalist.

She also won a gold medal in the 2022 Olympic champion in the team event and is a favorite for the gold in the women’s singles, but the investigation for her doping case is still pending.

Valieva at the junior level was the 2020 World Junior champion along with the 2019–20 Junior Grand Prix Final champion, and the 2020 Russian junior national champion.

Valieva currently holds the world record in the women’s short program, free skating, and total scores. She has nine world records to her name till now in her career.

She became the first female skater who broke the 250-, 260- and 270-point lines in the total score that too in one season, also, she has also become the first figure skater to break the 170- and 180-point thresholds in the free skate. Not only this, but she is also the first to break the 90-point threshold in the short program.

On 9 February 2022, while it was competing at the Olympics in Beijing, the Moscow press reported that Kamila has been tested positive for trimetazidine which is a banned substance used for angina during late 2021. However, being 15 years is considered a minor by the Olympic committees.

Kamila may have the chance that she will be protected from public declarations which were concerned by the use of banned substances at the discretion of the committees, protections that are not extended to athletes over the age of 18. Due to the preliminary inquiry, the medal ceremony for the team event in which Valieva had competed earlier was officially postponed at the Olympics.
