Pele, a legend of Brazil, is fifth all-time in World Cup goals with 12 goals in four tournaments, but interestingly, he has never taken home the Golden Boot.

The only player who is still playing who has scored 10 or more goals at a World Cup is Thomas Muller of Germany and Bayern Munich. Muller has participated in three games so far, but only two of them have resulted in a goal.

Thomas Muller of Germany has scored 10 World Cup goals in four editions (2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022), more than any other player competing in Qatar.

After opening his account in 2006, Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo became the first player to score in five straight World Cups at the FIFA World Cup 2022. In the opening match against Ghana, the striker scored his first goal in Qatar by converting a penalty kick. Currently, Ronaldo has eight goals.

With seven goals each in FIFA World Cup games, Lionel Messi of Argentina and Luis Suarez of Uruguay are not far behind.
