Historically, FIFA considers the third-place playoffs match to be of low priority and often schedules it in a smaller stadium. Although this is not always the case however, as The Rose Bowl stadium hosted both the third-place and final match for the 1994 World Cup. The match saw a record attendance of 91,500 for any third-place playoff ever.
Up until now, Germany holds the record for the most third-place playoffs wins in the World Cup with four wins. Behind them comes Poland, France, Sweden, and Brazil with three wins so far.
Interestingly, Uruguay has played the most number of third-place playoff matches without ever winning it even once. The South American nation has played the third-place playoffs in three occasions – 1954, 1970 and 2000.
Moreover, another interesting fact is that Argentina and Spain are the only World Cup winning teams to have never played the World Cup third-place playoffs.

The third place playoff clash between Croatia and Morocco is set to take place today, Saturday, December 17, 2022. The match will take place at 18:00 local time (Arabia Standard Time, UTC+3), 8:30 pm IST.
Venue
In the ongoing Qatar 2022, the Khalifa International Stadium, which has a total capacity of around 40,000 seats will host the third-place playoffs between Morocco and Croatia.
Meanwhile, the Lusail Stadium, with an official capacity of around 80,000 will host the final match between Argentina and France.

The third-place winners of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup will receive a prize money of $27 million (₹220 crore). This is around $15 million less than what the champions of the tournament will receive.
