The prestigious FIFA World Cup is just a year away from kicking off in Qatar. The World Cup qualifiers are taking place right now as we speak and fans can’t wait to see their nations getting in on the biggest stage to compete for the World Cup trophy in 2022. Even though Euro 2020 took place this year due to its postponement after the pandemic, FIFA is not going ahead with the usual plan of a 2-year break between a European Championship and a World Cup tournament.
FIFA World Cup 2022: Schedule And Confirmed Dates
The World Cup 2022 is set to take place in Qatar during the winter months of November and December rather than the summers because of the severe heat conditions in the Middle Eastern country. The competition will commence from Monday, November 21st at the Al Bayt stadium in Al Khor where the host nation will play the opening match.
The final will take place on Sunday, December 18th just a week before the 2022-23 Premier League season resumes for action. The Lusail Stadium in Doha is where the World Cup final will be played.
FIFA World Cup 2022: Format And Schedule
32 teams will participate in the tournament with a total of eight groups of four. The Group stage will go on for 12 days and 4 matches will be played on each day during this period. The winners and runners-up will then proceed to the Round of 16.
After the final draw is revealed, matches will only be assigned to specific venues. This way organisers can decide the kick-off times that would suit TV audiences in different countries, along with fans/supporters in Qatar. The draw for the finals is going to take place in Aprill 2022 after the international fixtures in March are over. Also, a third-place playoff for World Cup 2022 will be played on December 17th, 2022.

Eight stadiums have been chosen for the group fixtures. They are as follows: Al Bayt stadium, Khalifa International Stadium, Al Thumana stadium, Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, Lusail Stadium, Ras Abu Aboud Stadium, Education City Stadium, Al Janoub Stadium.
FIFA Qatar World Cup 2022 Tickets Prices And Where To Buy From
FIFA has officially announced that the tickets will be available from November 21st, 2021.The tickets for the group matches will cost in the range of $105 to $210 whereas the finals tickets will cost between $455 and $1,100.
World Cup 2022 tickets will be on sale soon and demand for the tournament is expected to be very high with fans from around the world visiting Qatar next November/December.
