The Puskás Award had eleven goals in total when it was first nominated. Along with knowledgeable panellists, fans who cast their votes on FIFA’s official website chose the three finalists from this shortlist.
Julio Ensiso of Brighton, Guilherme Madruga of Botafogo, and Nuno Santos of Sporting are the three football players vying for the title of best goal in 2023. The best individual goal in both men’s and women’s football between August 20 and December 19, 2022, is recognised with this award.
There are no women’s goals in the final nominations; instead, goals from the Portuguese top division, Brazil’s Serie B, and the Premier League have been cut.
1. Julio Enciso (Brighton)
One of the three finalists for the FIFA Puskas Award is Julio Enciso’s incredible goal for Brighton versus Manchester City in May of 2023.
Forward Enciso of Brighton, who is known for his incredible goals, will be vying to win the coveted award named for the late Ferenc Puskas, a brilliant striker from Hungary.
In one of the final Premier League games of the previous season, Enciso’s goal against Manchester City gave Roberto de Zerbi’s side a well-earned 1-1 draw against the defending English champions.
