After defeating both Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to reclaim the top spot, Lionel Messi has been named The Best FIFA Men’s Player for 2023.

On the other hand, in addition to her Ballon d’Or Féminin championship, Barcelona and Spain midfielder Aitana Bonmatí won FIFA’s The Best women’s award on Monday, solidifying her position as the best player in women’s football.

England coach Sarina Wiegman received the women’s best coach award for a record-tying fourth time, and Manchester City’s treble-winning coach Pep Guardiola took home the Best Men’s Manager of 2023 title. To win the title, Guardiola defeated Luciano Spalletti of Napoli and Simone Inzaghi of Inter Milan.

At the London ceremony, Mary Earps, the number one goalkeeper for Manchester United and England, received the women’s award, and Ederson, the stopper for Manchester City, earned the Best Men’s Goalkeeper title.

Following the voting of over 28,000 professional footballers for their global team of the year, the FIFA FIFPRO Men’s World 11 and FIFA FIFPRO Women’s World 11 were announced at The Best FIFA Football Awards in London, England.

With his 17th consecutive FIFA FIFPRO Men’s World 11 appearance, Lionel Messi set a record. Since 2007, his peers have selected him for every team of the year.
