Heading into the competition, Manchester City are the reigning champions following their 2023 triumph in Saudi Arabia. Despite the criticism around the new competition structure, there is still plenty of intrigue around it.
FIFA Club World Cup 2025 format
The upcoming tournament will start off with 32 teams divided into 8 groups of four teams each. Following which the top two teams from the eight groups will progress into the Round of 16. From here on out, the tournament will become a direct knockout stage with the winners moving on to the next round up until the final round. The final match will take place on July 13, 2025 at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
2025 FIFA Club World Cup teams
The upcoming tournament will feature 32 teams from across different continental confederations. The teams include the champions from each confederation alongside the strongest-performing teams in continental competitions throughout the last four years. UEFA will feature 12 teams, while CONMEBOL will feature 6 teams.
Meanwhile, the AFC, CAF and CONCACAF will all feature four teams each. The remaining two teams include OFC entrant Auckland City and Inter Miami from the MLS. Given below is the full list of participating teams:
