The improvement is a minor adjustment in comparison to the controversial changes that will be made for the 2025 event, in which 32 teams will compete. The season calendar has been updated with extra games; the 2023 edition is only slated to run for ten days.
The tournament in 2023 will feature seven teams from six federations, and it will largely replicate events in the future.
When is the FIFA Club World Cup 2023?
The FIFA Club World Cup 2023 will be held in the last month of the year starting from December 12 and will run until Decemeber 22.
The host nation’s representative will play Auckland City, the OFC team, in the first round match to advance to the next phase. In the first round, Al-Ittihad and Auckland City will launch the campaign. Three teams will play in the second round: Al Ahly, Club Leon, and Urawa Red Diamonds.
The third round (semifinal), will see Manchester City, the Champions League winners, and the Copa Libertadores champion advance due to their higher ranking. Check out the full schedule below:
