In the first semi-final match Australia beat New Zealand by 85-67 and in the second semis Lebanon defeated Jordan by a close margin of 86-85 win.
It will be interesting to see whether Australia will take home the trophy for the second straight year or Lebanon will write their name in the history of the competition. Therefore, it will also be a tough competition for both Jordan and New Zealand for the third position.

The ongoing FIBA Basketball Asia Cup is the 30th edition of the basketball championships held in Asia. This is the first time that teams have qualified for the tournament through Asia Cup qualifying rounds. A total of 16 teams across the Asia-Pacific region had qualified for the tournament and further, these sixteen teams were divided into four groups through draws that were held by the FIBA on February 18 at Jakarta. This time the competition moved to the Istora Stadium, Indonesia nearly after 30 years.
