Felton Spencer, a former star basketball player at the University of Louisville and a 12-year veteran of the NBA, has died at age 55, know his cause of death and net worth
Spencer’s family told the U of L men’s basketball team on Sunday afternoon that he had died, and the team then confirmed it on their social media pages.

No one knows why he died, but his death has left the Louisville community saddened by the loss of a well-liked member and sending condolences to his family. Before playing for the University of Louisville, Felton Spencer played high school baseball at Louisville’s Eastern High School.
He is said to have died of a heart attack, which was caused by an undiagnosed heart condition but an official cause of death is yet to be released. He passed away peacefully in his sleep as revealed by his sister.

Spencer, who is 7 feet tall, is still Louisville’s all-time leader in field-goal percentage. He made 62.8 percent of his shots from the field. Spencer was named first-team All-Metro Conference as a senior at Louisville, where he averaged 14.9 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. As a senior, he shot 68.1 percent from the field, which was the best for U of L in a single season.

Felton Spencer played in 134 games and scored 1,168 points, grabbed 694 rebounds, and blocked 133 shots. He had a career average of 8.7 points and 5.2 rebounds. Felton Spencer went on to play for Minnesota, Utah, Orlando, Golden State, San Antonio, and the New York Knicks for a total of 12 seasons in the NBA.

He was on the NBA’s All-Rookie Team in 1991. And then went on to score 3,354 points and grab 3,436 rebounds in his NBA career. In 2011, Spencer was an assistant coach at Spalding. In 2016 and 2017, he was an assistant coach at Bellarmine.
