Juventus and Italy star Federico Chiesa picked up an injury during Bianconeri’s Serie A fixture against Roma on Sunday, know his update and return date
Problems have piled up for Massimiliano Allegris’s side as their star winger Federico Chiesa sustained a grave ACL injury in Juventus’ game against Roma over the weekend.
Federico Chiesa Injury Update, News And Return Date
An official statement was released by the club on Monday which said that the Italy international experienced a “blunt trauma sprain” in his left knee, which was later confirmed to be an ACL injury. The official statement read, “During yesterday’s match, Federico Chiesa felt a blunt trauma sprain to his left knee. The diagnostic tests performed this morning and medical revealed an injury of the anterior cruciate ligament.” The statement also added that it will be necessary for Chiesa to undergo surgery in the next few days.
It now stands official that Chiesa will be forced to miss the rest of the Serie A season, also ruling him out for Italy’s play-off match for the 2022 World Cup, which is just a few months away. The news of Chiesa’s injury comes as a huge blow to Juventus as well as the Italian national team because of how significant the player’s contributions are to both the teams.
