Abdul Hameed Mohammed Fahadh Faasil is the son of the famous filmmaker Fazil and his mother is Roseanna Fazil. On 20th January in the year 2014, Abdul got engaged to Malayalam film actress Nazriya Nazim. Thet got married on 21 August in the same year with Nazriya just 19 at the time.
The two who had met in Bengaluru were said to be expecting a child back in 2017 but the name of their children are not known.
He has done his schooling at the Lawrence School and later on attended Miami University where he did his Bachelor’s of Arts in Philosophy.
Fahadh started his film career at the age of 19 by starring in the leading role in his father Fazil’s 2002 romantic film Kaiyethum Doorath, which was a critical and commercial failure. After taking up a gap of 7 years, Fahadh made his comeback with the anthology film Kerala Cafe in the year 2009, in the short film Mrityunjayam.
He achieved critical acclaim and recognition for his roles as Cyril in the 22 Female Kottayam in the year 2012 and Dr. Arun Kumar in Diamond Necklace in 2012. He won his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor for his role in 22 Female Kottayam and didn’t stop and made numerous films back to back.
Abdul also won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum in the year 2017 and his third Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Malayalam. In the year 2018, Hameed acted as Prakashan in the film Njan Prakashan which ranks among the highest-grossing Malayalam films, and as Aby in the film Varathan.
In 2021, Fahadh portrayed an anti-hero role in the crime drama movie, he later received nationwide acclaim from critics for his performance in the political thriller, Malik. He charges upwards of Rs.3 crore per movie and was paid Rs.4 crore for his role in Vikram.
