This season the real F1 title concluded with Max Verstappen finishing on top with several races to spare.
However, for the F1 Esports championship it is another whole story with the top five drivers still very much under contention for the title and possibly will continue to do so till the very last race.
The new era of F1 has delivered drama, and it’s time for the best esports drivers to take their seats in a fresh format for a piece of the $750,000 prize pot.
The Top Five Contenders
Currently, the top five drivers have only 22 points between them. Lucas Blakeley who has been on the top spot since day one still leads the standings. Blakeley is the clear favourite despite his first season with McLaren Shadow.
However, the top four other drivers are still set on getting their hands on the tile. Behind Blakeley is new rookie driver Thomas Ronhaar who’s been arguably the best story of the season.
Thomas is guaranteed to finish as the best newcomer this season irrespective of his top five finish. With just three points behind and still three races left, the young rookie could still very much win the title, which would be a hell of an achievement.
Blakeley’s team-mate Bari Boroumand is also one of the five drivers in contention for the title. While coming up closely behind him is Red Bull’s Frede Rasmussen, a seasoned campaigner in F1 Esports and a regular championship contender.
The final racer in contention for the tile is defending champion Jarno Opmeer, who has had quite a rough season. Opmeer faced a tough start this campaign, and currently sits in fifth position in the standings.
F1 Esports Top Five Standings
Given below are the top five standings going ahead into the F1 Esports championship finale:
- Lucas Blakeley (132 points)
- Thomas Ronhaar (121 points)
- Bari Boroumand (118 points)
- Frederik Rasmussen (115 points)
- Jarno Opmeer (110 points)
