After Nickmercs made an anti-LGBT+ statement, Activision removed his Call of Duty operator skin from sale
In both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone, the skin is no longer available for purchase.
Nickmercs, a well-known gamer and influential member of the Twitch community, has found himself in hot water as a result of his poorly worded tweet about PRIDE month. As a result, Activision has chosen to remove the streamer’s Call of Duty skin from the game.
Explained why was Nickmercs operator skin removed from Call of Duty over LGBTQ tweet on Twitter
They should leave little children alone. That’s the real issue.

How public reacted to tweet of Nickmercs?
In the Call of Duty community, prominent streamer and Faze content producer Nickmercs finally received his own branded Operator skin from Activision. But as a result of his statements in a thread published by MLG’s Chris Puckett depicting an assault by an anti-LGBTQ group on a pro-LGBTQ group during Pride, that Operator has since been taken off the market.
To put things in perspective, Nickmercs reacted to a video showing a clash between pro-gay rights protesters and an anti-LGBTQ+ organization that eventually resulted in physical violence. He tweeted that students in schools ought to be left alone and not be exposed to LGBTQ+ related material. The community reacted negatively to this tweet, with some parents citing his quote and calling his viewpoint deplorable.
Know when will Nickmercs’ skin return to store?
As was already known, the game’s creators took legal action against the broadcaster, and his operator bundle was removed from the game’s stores and is no longer offered. It’s unclear, though, if this erasure is only temporary or irreversible. Nicholas hasn’t openly addressed this situation as of yet but, he recently shared his thoughts and ideas about the incident during his stream. The day after the tweet, Nickmercs denied having anti-LGBT+ ideas on stream and refused to apologize for it.
The streamer is a part of the FaZe Clan, a group whose members are no strangers to controversy. For using racist language, Cented was expelled from the organization last year, while another member declined to support the group’s Pride post. Activision’s decision is not particularly shocking because, over the past few years, gaming companies and creators have enthusiastically supported Pride festivities and open LGBTQ acceptance.
