The 42-years old Sporting Director Michael Edwards is all set to leave the club at the end of the season. Moreover, Edwards has played a huge role in the success of Klopp’s era at Liverpool. He joined the club in 2011 and is with the club for more than 10 years. In the year, 2016 Edwards was appointed to the position of Sporting Director. He made some of the most successful signings during his tenure.

In an interview with The Athletic, Edwards confessed that he wants to end his journey with Liverpool on a high note. Moreover, Edwards joined the club back in 2011 as head of performance and analysis. Furthermore, he was promoted as a director of technical performance in 2013. This season, Liverpool saw the departure of Harry Wilson, Taiwo Awoniyi, and Xherdan Shaqiri. However, they bought Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig.
Edwards’s contract will keep him at the club at the end of the 2021/2022 season. However, he told Athletic that he wants to end his career at Liverpool on a high note. During his tenure, he signed some exceptional talents like Salah, Van Dijk, and Becker. With this squad, the club ended their Premier League drought and also won the UEFA Champions League.

Currently, the Liverpool man is not linked with any other club apart from Real Madrid. However. the board of Liverpool is confident that they will convince Edwards to stay at the club. There are more than 6 months left in his contract and they will try to convince him to stay.
