The Kansas City Royals drafted him in the sixth round of the MLB Draft right out of high school. Although he may not have been a baseball legend, he did lead the league in triples in 1992, showcasing his undeniable athleticism.

Sanders also flirted with the idea of conquering the hardwood. In a surprising revelation during a 2016 Sports Illustrated interview, he disclosed his close call with an NBA opportunity, especially with the Atlanta Hawks. Sanders confidently claimed he could have contributed, projecting that he would’ve scored 10 points, grabbed two steals, and converted at the free-throw line, stating, “I know me.”
