A source close to the BCCI disclosed in an exclusive interview that the team selection for the Bangladesh series, at the very least, is unlikely to be significantly influenced by results in the first round of the Duleep Trophy. This will be Virat Kohli’s first Test match back since January. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma will open the proceedings.

Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Ravindra Jadeja will probably be the three spin-bowling all-rounders, and Sarfaraz Khan is expected to be involved. There will also be focus on Rishabh Pant, who is anticipated to return to India in white clothes.

After 634 days, he will be back with the Indian team for a Test match. He was involved in a tragic accident that kept him out of commission for a long time. Earlier this year, he returned to the Indian Premier League and the Indian side that won the T20 World Cup.
