Despite having signed a contract worth €85 million (£75 million/$94 million) in September 2021, it was discovered one month earlier that Inter had not received any money from the jersey sponsor this year. Both Serie A clubs have since withdrawn the blockchain startup as their front-of-shirt sponsor after AS Roma reportedly had similar problems with them.

Following the termination of their affiliation with Inter and Roma, DigitalBits issued the following statement, as reported by Football Italia: The Digitalbits foundation has begun a proactive approach to redefine future partnerships including the Digitalbits brand in accordance with the objectives of economic sustainability and use of blockchain technology.
Zytara Labs signed sponsorship arrangements with the football teams Roma and Inter in order to promote the Digitalbits brand. The Digitalbits Foundation is a representative of the community and ecosystem devoted to improving blockchain technology and its use.
What claims has Inter Milan made?
According to The Sun, Inter issued a statement earlier this year that read: “We recognise that the client’s ability to meet its commitments has been considerably impacted by the crisis in the cryptocurrency sector, which intensified throughout the second quarter of the year 2022.”
