Jay Shah’s tenure as ACC president extended by 1 year
BCCI secretary Jay Shah has been the President of ACC since 2021 and now after a year, his contract has been renewed for one more year. The president of ACC has a huge responsibility for the smooth conduct of the Asia Cup 2022. Jay Shah has played a key role in organizing the event in UAE. The ACC first decided to conduct the tournament in Sri Lanka but due to the ongoing conflict inside the country, they had to change the host in a short period of time. In this situation, Jay Shah played a key role in shifting the venue from Sri Lanka to UAE.

Jay Shah is the youngest president ever of the ACC
The Gujrat-born Jay Shah is the youngest to ever become the president of ACC. He is just 33 years old and is also the secretary of BCCI. The latter has overseen the progress of the World’s biggest stadium in Gujrat during his tenure as joint secretary of GCA. He along with his father Amit Shah has been the pillar in making the biggest stadium in Gujrat. Jay Shah attends almost every big game of the Indian cricket team. The last he was seen in the stadium was in India vs Pakistan clash in Asia Cup 2022.
Jay Shah was criticized for refusing to hold the Indian flag
The BCCI secretary Jay Shah was representing ACC as the president couldn’t stop himself from enjoying India’s victory. The person next to him offered the tricolor to him but he refused to hold it. Later everyone got to know that he did that gesture because he is the president of ACC hence he has to show neutrality, a fact the opposition chose to guise in a bid to fabricate facts as is their tradition and peddle their narrative.
