Have a look at when Graham Potter talked about his “glow up” following his Chelsea arrival
On January 12, Graham Potter acknowledged as much in remarks made following Chelsea’s 2-1 loss against Fulham. In the Premier League, the outcome places the Blues in tenth position, 10 points outside of the qualifying spots for the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Graham Potter is a grown man from his Brighton and Hove Albion days.
what is the Graham Potter glow up spoken about since his arrival at Chelsea
Potter was only hired in September and was given a five-year deal, but he is already experiencing pressure at a team where standards are high. In its last seven Premier League games, Chelsea has only won once. Additionally, it has been eliminated from the FA Cup and League Cup after falling to Manchester City in both.
Graham Potter’s new look is what the world is currently talking about
Graham Potter once remarked that a name like his made it “hard to be sexy”. But suddenly, the discussion in English football is about his “glow-up.” Everyone is talking about the coach who went from being a regular Potter to be Fifty Shades of Graham, and while he has downplayed it as harmless nonsense, it seems it’s not as random as it seems.
Potter is currently the sexiest man alive, but the coach is regaining his sexiness slowly and admits that he doesn’t see himself appearing on the cover of GQ anytime soon. Potter, ahead of Chelsea’s clash against Manchester United in October, said, as per TalkSPORT :
“Somebody said to me the other day that I have had a ‘glow-up’ – I have no idea what that is.”
He continued by saying:
“The world has gone upside down if they’re talking about my hair, beard or clothes is how I see it.
“I suppose it’s better than people talking about me being under pressure or my job being on the line, but I just take it for what it is – another level of irrelevant stuff and harmless fun.”
TalkSPORT visited the aforementioned barbershop and talked with Christian Gomez, the owner of Don Bigote barbers on Fulham High Street, about Potter’s new appearance. And he said the Chelsea manager had great faith in his scissor skills on his first visit. He said:
Right now I’ve got a few Chelsea players coming to the shop, and also the manager Graham Potter.”
He further told that he asked Potter about what kind of look he wanted, and the Chelsea manager replied him to do whatever he wants to, but “just not too short”.
Graham Potter’s current situation at Chelsea
Todd Boehly, one of Chelsea’s co-owners, will exert every effort to keep Potter on as a player. Roman Abramovich, a sanctioned Russian businessman, sold Chelsea to a group managed by Boehly in May for $3.09 billion. In the world of elite soccer, at least, his plan was long-term. He came prepared.
Potter is a modern coach who has a track record of developing young players, using data and analytics and playing appealing soccer. While firing Tuchel was very controversial, Potter appeared like a logical choice for a long-term project because of the fantastic job he did at Brighton & Hove Albion.
The issue is that Chelsea fans want instant satisfaction. Under Abramovich, Chelsea lavished money on players and won 21 titles in his 19-year ownership of the team.
