Short-track Speed skating events in the Olympic Games are divided up into four competitions for men and women- the 500-meter, 1,000-meter, and 1,500-meter races for both genders- the 3,000-meter women’s relay; and the 5,000-meter men’s relay.
Rules Of The Event
The Participants will race around an oval more than 111 meters in length. The Participants can be disqualified for impeding or pushing another competitor or for a second false start, among other infractions. Athletes also may be penalized for harmful or hazardous behavior by the referee.
Medals At The Event And World Records
South Korea owns the most Olympic short-track speed skating in overall medals with 48 including 24 gold medals. Also, China and Canada are tied for second with 33 medals, and China holds the gold medal advantage with 10 to Canada’s nine. The United States sits just behind that trio with 20 medals with four gold medals.

This year South Korea’s women’s 3,000-meter team is in the limelight for the 2022 Olympics game which was led by Choi Min-Jeong, who is a two-time gold medalist in 2018.
