In the video, quiet quitting is defined as the practise of not going above and above at work. This entails limiting one’s labour to the essential duties specified for a position in order to preserve a better work-life balance. Instead of quitting completely, workers are pausing and performing the absolute least.
According to TikTok, the millennial hustle culture is disappearing as employees scale back their job efforts to prevent burnout.
The site has been taken over by a new trend called “silent resigning,” which has received an astounding 3.7 million views just from the hashtag.
Quiet resignation follows the Great Resignation of 2021, which saw a 20-year high in the number of individuals quitting their employment in November.
According to Pew Research, “majorities of employees who departed a job in 2021 said poor income (63%) was the reason they left, followed by no possibilities for promotion (63%), and feeling disrespected at work (57%).
Examples include departing as soon as it is five o’clock, ceasing to answer messages received after office hours or excessively analyzing communications from your employer. The idea perfectly captures the idea that your work is not your sole or even your main concern. Life is much more than the culture of hustle and burning.

What is Burnout?
Breaking point at work is now acknowledged and recognised medically, mostly because it has spread to such an extent that it can no longer be disregarded.
