Most people who do something for charity in November do Movember, where they shave on the first and grow a moustache for 30 days. But now there’s a new option.

No Razor People choose not to shave for the whole month of November as a way to start a conversation about men’s health issues and bring more attention to them. Some of these are diseases and health problems, like testicular and prostate cancer.

The goal is to “raise awareness” by letting hair grow long and wild, since many cancer patients lose their hair during treatment. Participants are then asked to donate the money they would have spent on shaving and grooming products during that month. They are also asked to start conversations, which will raise awareness of cancer and teach people how important it is to get checked for it and treat it early.
What Are The Rules?
People who want to take part in No Shave November just have to stop shaving (or waxing or using hair removal cream) for 30 days, starting on November 1 (so for the whole month), and donate their monthly hair care costs to the cause.
Of course, everyone can participate, not just men. People could decide not to shave their legs, faces, or armpits. Everyone could take a month off and just let it grow if they wanted to.
Why Did No Shave November Start?
Back in 2009, the Hill family from Chicago came up with the idea to do the activity in a new way to raise money for charity. After their father, Matthew Hill, died of colon cancer in November 2007, the eight children of the Hill family decided to do this.So far, the charity has raised more than $10 million for different organisations that work on cancer research.
