If they are unable to reach a deal at this session, the lawsuit will proceed to trial, with a trial date scheduled for July 11th and with both failing to reach a settlement after negotiations took place for a scanty 9 minutes, the case is set to move ahead with Oliver demanding $24 million in compensation from Vince.
For those who are unaware of the complaint. Luck claims that he was fired without reason and that McMahon gave him a personal assurance about his agreement. Luck claims he was meant to be paid about $20 and $25 million out over the course of 5 years, and he has urged a tribunal to force McMahon to keep $23.8 million in reserve as a prize if the complaint is found in his favor.
“The facts plainly establish that Mr. Luck neither conducted any infraction that would constitute for removal for reason under the employee handbook,” according to the petition.
Luck was sacked with three years left on his agreement. And he claimed the arrangement included a written agreement from McMahon. McMahon has already launched a countersuit for roughly $600,000, saying that Luck quit his employment because when the epidemic struck the XFL was shut dwn. He also criticized Luck’s recruitment of the Tampa Bay Vipers, Antonio Callaway.
“All throughout Greene issue, Luck consciously and intentionally misleads me repeatedly,” McMahon wrote in his counter-lawsuit. The $572,792 requested in the civil complaint covers Callaway’s contract and unemployment comp, as well as Luck’s remuneration from March 14th to April 9th, 2020.
Since then, The Rock has purchased the XFL. Irrelevant to the topic McMahon nor Luck will indeed be engaged in the league’s next incarnation. Concerning the litigation, we shall learn again when the case now goes to trial in July, 2022.
