She is now a member of New Japan Pro Wrestling and has also changed her Twitter handle to Mercedes Varnado. She made her debut on Wednesday going by the moniker Mercedes Mone. Sasha Banks aka Mercedes Mone NJPW deal

Mercedes Mone, formerly Sasha Banks, has not been in the WWE ring since May 2022. At the time, Banks and Naomi were the reigning WWE women’s tag team champions, and they were set to compete in a six-pack challenge to determine Bianca Bellair’s opponent for the Raw Women’s championship at Hell in a Cell.

However, everything turned out differently when Banks and Naomi walked out before the show began, becoming one of WWE’s most controversial wrestlers in 2022. Sasha Banks has signed a new contract with New Japan Pro Wrestlings, where she would earn $100,000 for every appearance.

What led Shasha Banks to leave WWE?

During Wrestlemania in April 2022, Banks and Naomi triumphed as the women’s tag team champions and were later scheduled to fight in a six-pack challenge in May 2022. The winner of the fight was supposed to be the next opponent of Raw Women’s champion Bianca Bellair for the championship bout at Hell in a Cell. The plan of WWE creators was for Naomi to win the six-pack challenge before losing to Bianca Bellair at the Hell in a Cell.

The six-pack challenge, however, was turned into a singles match between Becky Lynch and Anuska after Banks and Naomi stormed out before the programme even began. Both Banks and Naomi, according to rumours, were concerned about their future as tag team champions. Following the event, RAW issued a statement alleging that Banks and Naomi had placed their championships on the desk. Later on SmackDown, it was revealed that both superstars had been suspended and their titles had been withdrawn.

She looks unlikely to make a comeback to the WWE after her NJPW contract.
