After Chris made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s buzzcut, he said,
“Jada, can’t wait for GI Jane 2.”
Will, who would eventually win Best Actor, stepped up to the stage and smacked the presenter before returning to his seat and yelling,
“Keep my wife’s name out of your f****** mouth.”
Chris was visibly shaken by the occurrence as he attempted to resume his presentation by saying,
“That was the greatest night in the history of television.”
Will went on to win his first Academy Award for his portrayal of King Richard later that evening, and he apologised on stage for his prior conduct.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has verified that no police report has been made in the aftermath of an argument at the 94th Academy Awards in which Oscar-winner Will Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock, although they are aware of the event.

Who Is “GI Jane”?
“GI Jane” is a 1997 film starring Demi Moore as Jordan O’Neil, who was the first woman to complete Navy Seal training, surpassing many of her male contemporaries.
To cement her status as a Navy Seal, O’Neal shaves her head and adopts the moniker “GI Jane.” She entirely conceals her femininity in the process. Rock made a joke about Pinkett Smith’s buzzcut, a reference to Moore’s character.
Chris Rock Has Targeted Jada Pinkett Smith Many Times Before This
This isn’t the first time the comedian has made a rude remark about Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. Rock mocked Pinkett Smith for boycotting the Oscars in 2016 because of a diversity problem among the candidates, alleging that she was not even invited.
Chris previously stated during his presentation,
Jada Pinkett Smith boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties—I wasn’t invited!
He also added,
It’s not fair that Will was this good and didn’t get nominated. It’s also not fair that Will was paid $20 million for Wild Wild West!
In response, Pinkett Smith stated that she wanted to “keep it going” beyond the jokes.
Jada’s Alopecia
Jada revealed her struggle with alopecia last year, a disorder that causes hair loss. She resorted to social media to reveal why she cut her hair totally.
