Sammy Winston, who used to play football for Leyton Orient, Tottenham, Yeovil, Sutton, and Kingstonian, has died at the age of 44, know his cause of death

Winston started his career as a young player at Tottenham’s academy. Later, he became a trainee at Norwich City. He did well on the youth team and in the reserves, but he didn’t play for the first team until he joined Leyton Orient under Pat Holland in 1996.
Winston had to wait a while before he could play for Leyton Orient’s first team, but when he did, Sammy Winston scored a spectacular goal in a 2-1 home win over Merthyr Tydfil in the first round of the FA Cup. The next week, he played his first game in the Football League, but he only played 12 more games for the club during his first season.

Sammy Winston didn’t play for the first team at all the next season, but he was a regular in the reserves. He later played for Yeovil Town for a short time and scored six goals in six games. Winston then played for several non-League clubs. Including Sutton, Kingstonian, Slough, Boreham Wood, and Enfield Town, until he retired in 2009. Winston also worked as a firefighter for the London Fire Brigade from 2004 until the end of his life.
Leyton Orient said in a statement that they were sad to hear about Winston’s death. The sentence said, “The club is saddened to learn the news of the passing of former player Sammy Winston, aged 44. Everyone at Orient sends their deepest condolences to Sammy’s family and friends at this sad time.”

The forward was born in Islington and played for Norwich City’s youth and reserve teams. In 1996, Orient manager Pat Holland got him from Norwich City. Winston didn’t play for the first team for a few months. But when he did, he scored a great goal in a 2-1 FA Cup first-round win at home against Merthyr Tydfil.
A week after that, he played in his first Football League game, which was a 2-0 loss at Cambridge United. Winston played 12 more times for the O’s that season. He scored one goal, from close range, in a 1-1 tie with Exeter.

The next season, Sammy Winston didn’t play for the first team at all and mostly played for the reserves. Early in 1998, he left the O’s to play for Yeovil in the Conference. After that, he played for non-league teams like Sutton, Boreham Wood, and Leyton.
In 2009, he played for Enfield Town for a while and then went to work for the Fire Brigade. At this sad time, everyone at Orient wants Sammy’s family and friends to know how sorry they are.
