Sean Patrick Burroughs was an American baseball third baseman who was born on September 12, 1980, in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.

The San Diego Padres selected Sean Burroughs, a Long Beach, California native from Woodrow Wilson High School, with the ninth overall pick in the 1998 MLB Draft.
Following his tenure with the Padres from 2002 to 2005, Burroughs played for the Tampa Bay Rays in 2006, the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2011, and the Minnesota Twins in 2012.
Burroughs went on to total seven major league seasons. Additionally, Burroughs played for a spell with the Los Angeles Dodgers (2013) and Seattle Mariners (2007). He clinched a gold medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics.
In 2002, he made his major league debut at Petco Park in San Diego after hitting a walk-off single in the game’s first regular season. The third baseman made his major league debut in 2002 when he knocked a walk-off single in the first regular-season game at San Diego’s Petco Park. In 432 games throughout his four seasons with the Padres, Burroughs hit.282/.340/.360.
He made his stage debut in the Little League World Series. He made it possible for Long Beach to win the LLWS twice in a row in 1992 and 1993, making history in the process. Burroughs, who also had a.600 hitting percentage at the plate, became the first American player to throw back-to-back no-hitters in 1993, during Long Beach’s championship run, making LLWS history.
